The inaugural event last year raised almost $70,000 to help Kirk start to put his life back together with the type of gusto with which he has always lived. Check out the website. The funds were used to help install handicap facilities in his home, and continue his aggressive (and very expensive) rehabilitation treatments. In addition, just this week, Kirk is being outfitted for a fully handicapped van that he will be able to drive and reclaim some sense of independence. And for us riders, we know how deeply that desire must be for him to get out on the road again.
